Samuel considers himself a native of the valley, graduating from Maryvale High School in Phoenix and later attending Arizona State University and Phoenix Seminary. He and his wife Janet have been married for 17 years and have two children, little Samuel (8) and Samantha (3).
Involved in ministry several years, Samuel enjoys passionately teaching the Bible in a relevant, easy-to-understand manner.
He has served in several roles including Servant Leader of Family Ministries, Elder, Board of Trustees, Teacher, and Musician. After serving for over 20 years at the Prayer Assembly Church, God has given him an overwhelming desire to plant a life-giving church in Scottsdale, a suburb of Phoenix.
Samuel is a mortgage underwriting manager. He has been in the finance industry for 20 years in various leadership positions. With contracts awarded by the City Of Phoenix, he also previously ran SDM Consulting & Training Services LLC, where he provided financial consulting to small business owners and displaced city employees. He is passionate about teaching financial literacy and education, and even created a curriculum series entitled Reality Finance to provide a roadmap out of a financial crisis such as bankruptcy or foreclosure.
As you can see, Samuel stays pretty busy! When not working or involved in ministry or family, you’ll likely find him engrossed in a book about leadership, watching a Law & Order marathon, or studying some other school topic as he continues his education at Phoenix Seminary. Janet, a registered nurse by trade and doctoral student, enjoys teaching nursing students and volunteering at community health clinics as a nurse educator, when she’s not busy caring for her children.
Little Samuel is full of life and energy. He is a smart little guy, always looking for ways to enjoy life more. Although diagnosed with autism at 2 years old and being severely speech delayed, he gives us so much joy! His progress is remarkable, and we look forward to the years ahead. Samantha is a little princess. Her favorite colors are pink and purple, and she already has a knack for coordinating her outfits. She loves phonics and anything pink, and she’s taken over her Dad’s iPad. She enjoys singing jingles when riding in her car seat, and I can say reluctantly that she’s pretty close to having Dad wrapped around her finger.
